"The Universe is exceedingly generous. When a farmer sows one seed, a plant comes forth that produces thousands of seeds. If you desire abundance, be like the farmer and first give up something. Whatever you recieve, keep a portion for yourself, and share a portion with others. By establishing yourself in the flow of generosity, whatever you give will come back many fold." -Swami Kripalu

pigeonThis economy makes people nervous. Maybe you feel the stress of job loss, or you are worried about money and financial security, or feel anxious about a job search or an upcoming job interview. Finances are uncertain. And with uncertainty comes fear.

My name is Megan McDonough and I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years. As a yoga teacher, I know when times get tough, people benefit even more from practicing yoga. Yoga, and other mind/body techniques that trigger the relaxation response, helps you manage stress, relieves worry, and acts as a buffer protecting you against all the negativity spewing out around you. Trouble is, when the belt is tightened, yoga is seen as an expendable luxury and gets the ax.

Yoga is cut when it’s needed most. During uncertain times the certainty of your yoga practice sustains.

This economy brings lots of unknowns. But one thing I know for certain-–I want you to continue (or start) yoga. Lack of money is not an excuse to stay away.

In Sanskrit, the language of yoga, seva means service. Seva is serving others. In service to you, I have created seva seats–free virtual yoga when and where you need it.

Use the seva seats when you need yoga for stress relief or just to plain feel good about this moment.

I look forward to having you in class!
